Course Approval: NITA's course for Private Detectives in Illinois meets the guidelines from the Illinois Detective Act (225 ILCS 447/15-25) Section 15-25 for a PERC employee basic training. This is the approved minimum 20 hours of training that is required to be completed within 30 days of employment as a registered employee of a licensed agency in Illinois. Course Description NITA's security online training course will overview our training expectations and proceed to cover the history of private investigations and legal issues encountered as a Private Detective. We will review proper communication and report writing skills for Private Detectives and how to successfully testify in court. Next, in NITA's training, you will encounter the best practices for surveillance and different types of investigations and how to work as an ethical investigator. And, finally, the course dives into a review of the Illinois Private Detective Act and the Illinois administrative code. NITA's comprehensive training is offered 100% online and 100% on-demand, making it easy to study on your own time and your own schedule. Course Outcome Upon passing with a 75% or higher, the student will immediately have access to a printable diploma. If requested this diploma can be mailed to the student. Course Completion All courses include an end-of-course examination. Students must pass the exam to receive credit for the training. Certificates will be available online immediately for all students.
